About Me

Welcome to my blog

I started this blog in April 2012 so I could join Challenges. I am now on some design teams. I hope you like my cards. I started stamping in 1995 but my cards are still mostly cute.
Thank you to those who have joined as followers and to those who comment.
Unfortunately because of spammers I have had to put moderation on the comments. I will approve them as soon as possible, this also means I don't miss any.
I don't always get a chance to reply to all comments but I read them all when I approve them and I really appreciate you taking the time to give your comment.
The lovely banner was made especially for me by Amanda at Faery Ink Art & Design when I won her first blog challenge. family:";">http://faeryink.com/product/granmargaret-fairy-digital-stamp/

Be careful what you wish for

Be careful what you wish for.  I have just been on two weeks leave from work and I was wishing that I didn’t have to go back to work yesterday.

I was only at work a short time when my boss and the lady from personnel in head office came to see me and advised me that I had been made redundant effective immediately as they were restructuring the library.

So now I am a lady of leisure with no money to enjoy it, still I have lots of craft supplies to keep me going for the next few years.

I have been working for The Salvation Army for nearly 24 years but because I have only been working part time for the last two years the redundancy pay is only very small.  Still every little helps.

I won’t be looking for another job as I am too old now (will be 68 in April) and my health is not good.

I am happy to be at home.  I am just living today and leaving the future in God’s hands.

I will have more time to make my cards.  I am just sharing a very quick card I made to send in the post last night to a cyber friend in the Bear Lovers Stamping Group.
I used a lovely cute image "Ellie and Cookie" which is a digi stamp by Sherri Baldy from Scrapbook Stamp Society.  Dark pink card behind layered onto light pink card embossed with Cuttlebug daisies.  Stampin Up sentiment.

Thank you for you kind comment on my card Beautiful Day. Having just read your blog today, I must tell you how sorry I am to hear of your unexpected redundancy - that must have been a shock. However, your positive attitude shines through, and I trust that you enjoy many many years of happy retirement - and share your lovely cards with us all. Bless you, Ann

super card, sorry to read about your loss of work, but you know there's a time when we have to step back and let the younger ones take over. You just enjoy your retirement, I'm sure you have earned it. xx

Thank you Ann. I was getting so far behind at home and now I will be able to concentrate on my craft and not worry about having to go out.
I am so much pain today with the arthritis I am glad I didn't have to go to work.

Oh, goodness, that's not very good news about your job. I am so sorry. I believe in leaving worries in God's hands, so do not despair. Enjoy your papercrafting; I know it is very therapeutic, and will help you get through. Hugs!
