About Me

Welcome to my blog

I started this blog in April 2012 so I could join Challenges. I am now on some design teams. I hope you like my cards. I started stamping in 1995 but my cards are still mostly cute.
Thank you to those who have joined as followers and to those who comment.
Unfortunately because of spammers I have had to put moderation on the comments. I will approve them as soon as possible, this also means I don't miss any.
I don't always get a chance to reply to all comments but I read them all when I approve them and I really appreciate you taking the time to give your comment.
The lovely banner was made especially for me by Amanda at Faery Ink Art & Design when I won her first blog challenge. family:";">http://faeryink.com/product/granmargaret-fairy-digital-stamp/

Digi stamps 4 Joy No 75

Challenge 75 at Digi Stamps 4 Joy is Inspired by the 60s.
http://digistamps4joy-sa.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/challenge-75-inspired-by-60s.html
I missed out on the free image so I have bought a couple of images.  This is the card I made today just in time for the challenge.
I have printed out Digi Stamps 4 Joy  "Flower Power" layered over piece of digi paper from Pink Gems Designs "Background papers clouds".  Printed pre coloured Digi Stamps 4 Joy "Trendy Two" and layered over bus.  Coloured bus with Copics (blue) and Distress Markers (yellow, red, black).  Printed Create with TLC sentiment.  Added punched flowers and butterfly.

I didn't know any hippies in the 60s.  I started work in 1960 when I was 16.  In later 60s we had rockers and surfies in Sydney.
I scanned a few photos from the 60s and made a very quick scrapbook page.  I have to find the album with the later 60s photos when the mini skirt came in.

Photos layered over Pink Gem designs Champagne Lace paper.

1968 October with Mum and Dad after Sunday School Anniversary (I used to teach Sunday School class)
1969?  With Tony who was then my fiance and my nephew
1969 4 October at my best friends Patricia and Ian's wedding.
Sadly she died from an asthma attack in 1972 when her daughter was 2 and her son 4 weeks old.

1969 Our wedding 1 November (Tony didn't have a beard then)
1969 1 November at our wedding with Mum and Dad.
Unfortunately the professional photos weren't very good, I was so disappointed.   We used the same company as my sister used in 1968 and hers were much better.
The two people we had asked to take colour photos as we couldn't afford the professional ones had problems with their cameras so we only have a couple of small coloured photos.

What a fabulous card you made, and merged two of my images! Love it, brings back so many memories! I absolutely loved reading your blog post as well and seeing the pictures - and of course I had a good giggle at those fashions I used to wear!!! I actually have a photo of myself in a pants suit (long pants and sleeveless top) in a bright glittery gold! What was I thinking? The worst is, I was nearly 6' tall and the legs of the pants only reached my ankles. I cringe when I look at the photo, yet i looked so happy and carefree LOL.
Thanks for joining us at Digistamps4Joy

Thank you Margy. I have the opposite problem. I am too short and pants are always too long.
