About Me

Welcome to my blog

I started this blog in April 2012 so I could join Challenges. I am now on some design teams. I hope you like my cards. I started stamping in 1995 but my cards are still mostly cute.
Thank you to those who have joined as followers and to those who comment.
Unfortunately because of spammers I have had to put moderation on the comments. I will approve them as soon as possible, this also means I don't miss any.
I don't always get a chance to reply to all comments but I read them all when I approve them and I really appreciate you taking the time to give your comment.
The lovely banner was made especially for me by Amanda at Faery Ink Art & Design when I won her first blog challenge. family:";">http://faeryink.com/product/granmargaret-fairy-digital-stamp/

but the prize will only be offered if there are 7 or more entries.
We only have 5 entries at present so come along and join in the challenge which closes mid day on Tuesday (Australia time).

The Paper Shelter challenge 104

http://thepapershelter.blogspot.com.au/
I am just in time for this challenge which finishes tomorrow.
I have used three pattern papers from The Paper Shelter "Zoe Spring" papers.  Digi stamp "Spring Break" from The Paper Shelter, flowers and brads.

Feeling Sketchy No 52

It's time for another sketch challenge on Feeling Sketchy
http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com.au/
I am a bit late putting my design team project on my blog today.  I have made a scrapbook page.  This is an older photo.  I am way behind with my scrapbooking.  Trying to get my Christmas album up to date.
 This is the sketch
I have used Bearly Mine Design digi paper.  I made the triangles on the computer.  I then added Whimsy stamps "Little Christmas Angel" and "Angel Petals", unfortunately the scan hasn't come out too well.
Lynda wasn't well as she had just had 2 lots of surgery for breast cancer, but she hadn't started the chemotherapy so she still had her hair.
Sadly this was Andrew's last Christmas.  He went to Heaven suddenly in April 2011 in the middle of Lynda's chemotherapy treatment (this is the reason I have used the Angel stamps)

Come on over to Feeling Sketchy and have a look at the lovely cards the other design team members have made and join in this challenge which started today and finishes on Friday.

This was the sketch and we had to use an Elisabeth Bell image
I have a few Elisabeth Bell stamps but they were too big so I have used a digi stamp "Rachel Little Angel" by Elisabeth Bell (which I just bought today) on white card and coloured with copic, distressed and Tria markers and chalks.  The different papers are digi papers from The Paper Shelter with yellow and green card.  For the sentiment I have used a Stampin Up stamp on pink card and punched out with Stampin Up punch extra large modern label.  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch.  I have added flowers and brads.

Whimsy Stamps challenge 57

Whimsy Stamps challenge 57 is real or faux stitching.
http://whimsyinspires.blogspot.com.au/

ABC Challenge - J is for Just as you like it

I found another challenge site on someone's blog (sorry can't remember whose)
http://abc-challenge.blogspot.com.au/
Their challenge is J is for Just as you like it (or anything goes).
One of the sponsors is The Paper Shelter so I used one of their digi stamps.  I love their stamps.

Feeling sketchy No 50.

I Just remembered I hadn't put my layout on my blog for the design team for Feeling Sketchy No 50
http://feeling-sketchy.blogspot.com.au/

Things are a little different this month over at Feeling Sketchy.  We have a weekly prize up for grabs!! Yes your chance to win a little bit of scrapping goodness every week!!
We are also offering anyone who plays along with ALL of our challenges in March to join us as a Guest DT. We hope these will entice you to play along each week.
So hop over to the blog and have a go.  We have some fabulous sketches coming up!
This is my layout for No 50

This is the sketch which will be on the Feeling Sketch site soon.
The photo is of my eldest daughter Lynda and her daughter Sian holding the drawing my other daughter Angela's daughter Emily drew as a Christmas present for Lynda.  Lynda's hair is just growing back after loosing it all through chemotherapy treatment for breast cancer.  It was sad for us as this was our first Christmas without Lynda's husband Andrew who died suddenly in the middle of her treatment.  She managed to smile for the photo as she wanted Sian to enjoy Christmas.
I used digi Christmas Paper from Bearly Mine Designs and made the triangle on the computer.  The stars on the right top of the photo are punched with  Stampin Up punches.

I can't draw at all but my grand daughter Emily (16) is very good at drawing.

This the quick birthday card Emily made for my husband Tony with a cartoon picture of him wearing his Black Stump T Shirt.  Tony goes as a volunteer site manager every October long weekend to Black Stump which is a Christian Music Festival where everyone camps in tents for the weekend.  It starts Friday afternoon and finishes on the Monday afternoon.

Does anyone else have a gremlin in their house who is always moving things.   Before posting this I spent 15 minutes looking for the folder which has all the sketches and a note of what I have used for my card or page.
I found it in a place I am sure I didn't put it.

Have a good week everyone.

Spring fairy card

This morning I made this card for One Sweet Challenge March challenge- a spring card using Pink, yellow and green and I have used a Sweet Pea stamp.
http://www.onesweetchallenge.blogspot.com.au/

and though that it also fits the Flutterby Wednesday challenge No 230- anything goes as long as there is a fairy or butterfly.  I have used a fairy and butterflies.
http://flutterbywednesdays.blogspot.com.au/

I have used butterflies embossing folder, Sweet Pea digital stamp "Blue Fairy" by Meredith Dillman coloured with copics, distress pen, Tria markers and gelly roll pens.  You can't see the glitter of the gelly roll pens on the wings and butterflies in the scan.  Carl butterfly punch, flowers and brads.

I only made one card today.  I watched an old movie "Beach Party Bingo" on TV this afternoon and then I had to go for a MRI scan on my knee at the hospital.  I was there just after 5pm for my 5.30 pm appointment but someone else came in that didn't have an appointment who had to be fitted in between patients as soon as possible so I had to wait till 6.30 before they started.  I didn't get home till 7.30 pm.  I have to go back on Sunday morning for the scan on my back and hips.  I hope I don't have to wait as long then.
