More Mixed Media December challenge - anything goes with optional white - use a little or a lot

I made this canvas in a class at Mad For Markers in December 2016 but kept the photo to use on my blog for this challenge.

Add triangles of dictionary paper coming out from a central point of the canvas.  Then give a thin layer of gesso over the top.
Place mask of the text O Holy Night on the canvas where you want the words to be.
Using blue, purple and black paint, start with the lightest - blue in the middle and then add paint around in circles alternating colours around the whole canvas.
Once the whole canvas is painted and had time to dry (use a heat gun if you want to speed up the process) peel off the mask carefully.
Painted over the words and painted stars around the canvas.
Added dots with left over paint.
